Though your first visit to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church may feel different than the worship you’re used to, as you follow the Way of the Warrior Saint, St. George will soon feel like home. As an educated, strong and independent leader, your life will be enriched through worship and fellowship, empowering you to be selfless and outward looking.
How do I get to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church?
We are located at 4530 E. Gold Dust Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85028. We are one block southwest of the intersection of Tatum Blvd. and Shea Blvd. St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church has ample parking in the two parking lots on our campus.
When are worship services?
Our Saturday service, Great Vespers, runs from October through May and begins at 5:00pm. Every Sunday we celebrate Orthros (Matins) promptly at 8:45am. Divine Liturgy, our main worship service, begins at 10:00am. Special feast days are celebrated throughout the year. Please see our calendar for more information.
What should I wear to Church?
Everyone is welcome at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church regardless of dress. However, recognizing worship as revealing the Kingdom of God to us, we wear our Sunday best. Please consider other garments in lieu of jeans, shorts, low-cut tops and skirts above the knee.
Will I be able to understand the Orthodox Worship Service?
Our worship is chanted and sung primarily in English. We are blessed to have members of our parish family from all over the world, so you may hear a small portion of the service in Arabic, Greek, Slavonic or Spanish.
Should I introduce myself when I arrive at Church?
From the moment that you enter the front doors of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church you will be made to feel welcome. Our ushers will be there to welcome you and to guide you throughout the service. Following Divine Liturgy, be sure to join us in Fellowship Hour in The Legacy Ballroom so our priest and parish family members can meet you!
Are my children welcome to attend services?
At St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church children and young people are not segregated away from the adult community during worship. There is no children’s church. There is no youth service. There is only the gathering of the One Body of Christ, an intergenerational assembly in which all participate equally, regardless of age, building a solid community.

We invite every child of God to join us in worship at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. We know that for some of our families, minor accommodations can make that much easier. Because of that awareness, we encourage you to communicate your needs with our clergy and staff. If you, your child or someone in your family would benefit from specific types of support via sensory accommodations or physical modifications at our events or services, please contact us at 602-953-1921 or contact us here. While we are not equipped to meet and support every need, we welcome the opportunity to partner with you to make Divine Liturgy a welcome place for every member of your family.
